About Us
We are a local support group for mothers who primarily stay at home with their children, including those who have home-based businesses or work part-time but are home with their children during the day. We offer support, friendship, fun activities, and informative meetings for our members.

Meet the Vienna Moms, Inc. Board of 2007 - 2008:

What kinds of activities are offered?
- Monthly outings
- Outings range from a trip to the zoo or circus, to a play date at a playground or the community center.
- General Meetings
- A monthly general meeting to discuss top news and events. These meetings are places for children to play and mothers to socialize or join the club. Prospective members are welcome to attend.
- Mom’s Night Out
- A monthly event held on the first Tuesday of the month. This offers our members a chance to get out in the evening without their children to enjoy dinner with other moms.
- New Member’s Breakfast
- A monthly event to welcome and greet new members to our group as well as celebrate birthdays
- Cooking Club
- A group who hosts themed dinners and share recipes
- Book Club
- Meets monthly to discuss books at Amphora’s Diner
- Craft Club
- A group who meets to do scrap-booking, and other craft projects
- Babysitting Exchange
- A system that allows members to swap babysitting based on a point system
- The Sunshine Committee
- Group of member volunteers will coordinate meals to be delivered to new mothers, moms on bed rest, or members who have had a death in the family. During times of stress, dinner is often the last thing we want members to have to worry about.
- Playgroups
- Our most popular part of membership. These are informal groups that meet weekly at members’ homes or at local parks, bookstores, etc. Playgroups are most often organized by age of the child. Each playgroup has a leader who is responsible for setting up a schedule and keeping the other members informed of upcoming meetings.
- Annual and holiday events
- We host member wide social events throughout the year such as the annual summer picnic, the Vienna Halloween Parade and the holiday party. The picnic and parade give our families the opportunity to get together as a group for family-fun activities. The holiday party is a chance for our members to meet in a more social environment without the children, to celebrate the holidays and meet other members and their spouses.
What else is part of the membership?
- A Newsletter
- A newsletter is sent out to all members outlining upcoming activities and meetings for the month, profiles of members, articles of interest (such as Tips for a Great Birthday Party and Tips on Finding the Right Preschool), and everyday hints to make life easier.
- Access to the members-only section of this website
- Members have access to many resources online including a current listing of all activities for the month and our list of Recommendations & Referrals. These recommendations are all items from our bulletin board that are grouped by topic and posted online. It’s a one-stop place to go to get a list of recommended electricians, kid-friendly restaurants, babysitting resources, local activities and yard sales!! We also have a discussion board for topics such as sleep issues, preschools and potty training advice!!
Does the Vienna Moms, Inc. offer members a chance to give back to the community?
Yes. We have opportunities for members to volunteer within the club, helping coordinate playgroups, cooking meals, assisting at monthly socials, and helping with the website. We also plan several community service activities during the year:
- We currently support a Salvation Army family each Thanksgiving and Christmas.
- We have also been supporting the Assisting Young Mothers group of the Alternative House. This organization provides a safe place for qualifying single mothers to deliver their babies. They offer the parents educational support for raising the children, as well as opportunities to help the parents financially support their new infants.
